How has the world of IT gadgets and software and automation affected your life? I find it very powerful but there is the problem of automation replacing jobs and people need jobs to earn money to buy products.

It's the problem that Ford Motor Company had when they first started and saw a need to pay decent wages so that their employees could buy their own cars. However, automation and computers have made the automation part so easy and powerful that there is no need for a lot of employees.

This, of course, makes the rich richer and the poor poorer, and it's not a small problem! It affects everyone in this country! That's why major industrial companies are having so many problems, I believe.

The other problem is education. Education is too expensive for the average person, so the USA has to resort to bringing over people form India, England, China, Russia and elsewhere to make up for our lack of education!

I remember one Indian person I met that was feeling bad for us because their country affords them an education and then they take our best jobs. I was taking an upgrade course at Data General at the time. He said he ran into so many Americans that can't afford an education that he actually felt bad for us. If we were more educated, he knew he wouldn't be working here in this country as a temporary worker.

However, companies need skills in Computer Science, Software Engineers, and Automation Specialists. They will get these skills from all over the world one way or another.

When people have no decent jobs, there will be more crime, drug use, murders, and social unrest. I wonder what others have to say about this, the #1 problem why things don't work in America, in my opinion?
